Allen, G Freeman and Whitehouse, Patrick  Great Railway Photographs by Eric Treacy, Peerage Books, 1988, pp216.  First published in 1982 by David and Charles.  Large Format.  Hard Cover.  Very Good in a Very Good dust wrapper.  A compilation of 300 of Treacy's best photographs, including 24 pages of coloured shots.  3.95

Ashworth, Ben  The Last Days of Steam in Gloucestershire, Alan Sutton, 1986, pp137.  Hb.  VG+ in a VG- dust wrapper.  Small internally-repaired tear in the dust wrapper at the head of the spine.  A pictorial album.  3.95

Casserley H C  Preserved Locomotives, IA, 5th edition 1980, pp192.  First published 1967.  Preserved Locomotives was completely revised for the 5th edition with a new format and an enlarged page size.  Hb.  VG in a VG dust wrapper.  Slight loss of colour down the spine of the dust wrapper.  An illustrated history of the many main line locomotive classes preserved whether working or inactive, steam, electric or diesel.  Also contains a comprehensive register of preserved industrial locomotives and foreign engines.  3.95

Casserley H C  Great Railway Photographers, Milepost Publishing, 1996, pp48. Presented by Colin Garratt in association with Richard Casserley.  Large Format.  Glazed boards with a dust wrapper.  Very Good+ in a Very Good+ dust wrapper.  102 of Casserley's pictures selected and captioned by his son Richard.  In spite of the salami publishing, the book contains some excellent photographs, along with some fascinating glimpses into the man behind the camera.  2.95

Dibnah, Fred and Hall, David  Age of Steam, BBC, 2003, pp192 plus pp32 of colour illustrations.  Hard Cover.  Very Good+ in a Very Good dust wrapper.  A history of steam power with chapters on The Early Pioneers, The Transport Revolution, Driving the Wheels of Industry, Steaming down the Road, Ruling the Waves, and The Age of the Steam Turbine.  3.95

Ellis, C Hamilton  British Trains of Yesteryear: A pictorial recollection of the pre-1923 railway scene, Locomotive Publishing Co, 1961, pp132.  Hard Cover.  Very Good in a Very Good- dust wrapper.  Wear to the dust wrapper along the top edge.  288 photographs with historical and descriptive annotations.  3.95

Ellis, C Hamilton  The Lore of the Train, Crescent Books, 1973, pp240.  Very Large Format Hb.  VG+ in a VG dust wrapper.  There are several small tears at the dust wrapper edges.  A history of rail traction, with an emphasis on the steam locomotive, illustrated by a large number of detailed drawings.  3.95

Gammell C J  The Steam Age, Bracken, 1988, pp96.  Hb.  VG+ in a VG+ dust wrapper.  1959 was a year of rapid change on British Railways.  This album portrays the scenes, month by month, as the author travelled throughout the British Isles recording the passing of the steam age.  2.95

Garratt, Colin  British Steam Nostalgia, BCA/Thorsons, 1987, pp144.  Fine in a VG+ dust wrapper.  A volume of Colin Garratt's early photographs with sections on the GWR, the LMS, Industrials, BR, the Southern and the LNER.  Mainly black & white but with some colour.  2.95

Garratt, Colin  The Golden Years of British Steam Trains, Milepost, 1995, pp196.  Inscription under the flap of the dust wrapper.  Large Format Hb.  VG+ in a VG dust wrapper.  Atmospheric photographs taken by the Reverend A W V Mace, a prolific railway photographer who was active from the early 1920s until the end of steam.  Divided into four sections covering the GWR, LMS, LNER and SR.  Also published as four separate volumes.  3.95

Garratt, Colin  British Steam Lives!, Bounty Books, 2005, pp144.  Glazed boards with a dust wrapper.  Fine in a Fine dust wrapper.  First published by Blandford Press in 1984.  A tribute to the many British steam locomotives that were exported to countries around the world, illustrated by the author's colour photographs.  3.95

Herring, Peter  Classic British Steam Locomotives, Abbeydale Press, 2002, pp192 with numerous illustrations, mainly colour.  Large Format.  Glazed boards with dw.  Fine in a  Fine dust wrapper.  After a brief introduction, a two-page spread is devoted to each class of locomotive.  3.95

Kington, Miles  Steaming through Britain, Unwin Hyman, 1990, pp190.  Large Format Hb.  Fine in a Very Good dust wrapper.  An introduction to the preserved railway scene, aimed at the non-specialist reader, well-illustrated in black & white and colour.  3.95

Nixon L A  Steam Around Britain in the Seventies, Bradford Barton, 1977, pp96.  Hard Cover.  Very Good+ in a Very Good dust wrapper.  Corner of flyleaf clipped.  A Bradford Barton original with a "speckled" orange cover.  3.95

Nock O S  British Locomotives of the 20th Century: Vol. 1 1900-1930, BCA/PSL, 1983, pp257.  Published by Book Club Associates by arrangement with Patrick Stephens Limited.  Hard Cover.  Very Good in a Very Good dust wrapper.  The red title on the spine of the dust wrapper has faded.  The first volume of Ossie Nock's definitive history of British locomotive development since 1900.  3.95

Nock O S  British Locomotives of the 20th Century: Vol. 2 1930 1960, PSL, 1984, pp256.  Small inscription, the number "70."  Hard Cover.  Fine in a Very Good dust wrapper.  Slight loss of colour to the lettering on the spine of the dust wrapper.  The second volume of Ossie Nock's definitive history.  3.95

Nock O S  British Locomotives of the 20th Century: Vol. 3 1960 - the present day, BCA/PSL, 1985, pp257.  Hb.  VG in a VG dust wrapper.  There is a stain across the lower edge of the dust wrapper.  The final volume of Ossie Nock's definitive history, devoted almost exclusively to diesel and electric developments, including the HST.  3.95

Sagar, John  Chapters of Steam: Steam Locomotives of the Worth Valley Railway, Kingfisher, 1984, pp160.  The earlier Kingfisher edition, rather than the later Bracken Books reprint.  Large Format.  Hard Cover.  Very Good in a Very Good dust wrapper.  A pictorial album recording the varied careers of the over fifty locomotives that have appeared on the Worth Valley Railway since preservation.  3.95

Stephenson, Brian and Russell, Patrick  Specials in Steam, IA, 1st edition 1968, pp128.  Hb.  VG in a VG dust wrapper with some superficial wear to the edges of the dust wrapper.  A first edition of a best-selling album recalling the steam specials that ran between 1938 and 1968.  2.95

Stephenson, Brian  BR Standard Steam Locomotives, IA/Taj Books, 2007, pp128.  A matt reprint of a book published by Ian Allan in 1983.  The illustrations were originally published in various issues of Locomotives Illustrated.  Large Format.  Glazed boards with a dust wrapper.  Fine in a Fine dust wrapper.  3.95

Welch, Michael  Last Breaths of Steam, Runpast, 1998, pp76.  Glazed Boards.  Landscape Format.  Very Good+.  An all-colour landscape format album published to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the end of BR Steam.  3.95

Wells P H  BR Steam Portrait, Janes, 1987, pp64.  Steam Portfolios 4.  There is an old price sticker on the front cover.  Glazed Boards.  Very Good.  An all-colour album from the author's camera with pictures from Shap to Weymouth and from North Wales to Cambridge, although around half of the pictures come from the East Midlands where the author lived.  3.95

Whitehouse, Patrick and Thomas, David St John  A Passion For Steam, D&C, 1992, pp192.  Inscription.  Large Format Hb.  Fine in a  Very Good+ dust wrapper.  The well-known Whitehouse/Thomas team turns its attention to steam engines throughout the world.  "A combination of technical, nostalgic and imaginative writing and a splendid selection of photographs celebrating the pulsating joy of this unique form of power."   3.95
